Finally Home: Honoring Airmen lost in WWII
An Army chaplain gives on invocation at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va., Oct. 31, 2023. Master Gunnery Sgt. Jim Triplett and 2nd Lt. Porter Pile were a part of the 700th Bombardment Squadron, now 700th Airlift Squadron, during WWII. After a wrong turn by the lead plane due to a navigational error, their plane along with approximately 31 others were shot down. This year at Arlington National Cemetery, they were laid to rest.
