Honorary Commanders' Association

An F-35A Lightning from the 58th Fighter Squadron takes off after completing “hot pit refueling” at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., Feb. 13, 2015. The fifth generation fighter aircraft conducted the operations during a visit by more than 50 representatives from the Cobb Chamber of Commerce’s Honorary Commanders Association. Hot pit refueling is a procedure usually performed in a combat situation to rapidly refuel aircraft while engines are running resulting in a speedy refuel enabling pilots to return to “the fight” as quickly as possible.
