Lighting of the ninth candle is performed by a Chief Master Sgt., symbolizing the acceptance of selection to the highest enlisted grade. The Candle Lighting portion of the ceremony, honoring the newest Chief Master Sergeants, was held during the First Annual Dobbins Recognition Ceremony in Marietta, Ga. 7 Feb., 2015.
