Captured by the Germans –WWII Reenactment
Master Sgt. Michael Varnado, 700th Airlift Squadron Life Support NCO, reenacts a scene of a Tuskegee Airman fighter pilot being taken prisoner by German Soldiers after being shot down in Europe during World War II. The reenactment took place at the Annual World War II Heritage Days event at Peachtree City Airport April 19. The Commemorative Air Force Dixie Wing, a local patriotic organization hosted its sixth annual event on April 18-19 to pay tribute to the veterans of WWII and all of America’s veterans. Clayton David (left) and Austin Arrington (right) reenact the actions of WWII German Army grenadier privates on patrol. Arrington, whose reenactment name is “Erick Reicher” keeps a rifle on the Tuskegee Airman while David, whose reenactment name is “Eugen Foerster,” has the pilot to remove his flight jacket during the search for weapons and information.
