Air Force Week Atlanta Proclamation Ceremony
Georgia Congressman Phil Gingrey addresses the audience during the Air Force Week Atlanta proclamation ceremony Oct. 8 at the Marietta Confrence Center as Maj. Gen. William Nesbitt, Assistant Georgia Adjutant General, and Col. Heath Nuckolls, 94th Airlift Wing commander, look on. Congressman Gingrey said it wasn't a surprise that Atlanta was chosen as one of six locations for Air Force Week since nearly 26,000 Georgians are currently serving in the Air Force. Air Force Week Atlanta is designed to inform the American public, civic leaders and service members about the Air Force's mission, 60-year heritage, capabilities and role in the Global War on Terror.
