Pararescue

Marietta High School hosted the first "High School Drop-In" event during Air Force Week Atlanta, Oct. 8-14. The helicopter pararescue demonstration was performed by the 301st Rescue Squadron, Patrick AFB, Fla. The aircraft used in the demonstration is the HH-60 Pavehawk. "This demonstration was an alternate infiltration/exfiltration exercise," said Master Sgt. Steve Johnson, the Pavehawk's flight engineer. The exercise demonstrated the capability of the pararescueman to retrieve a survivor by hoist. The rescue demonstration is part of the Air Force "Heritage to Horizons" 60th Anniversary.
