Makos Evacuate Homestead
A VC-9C transport from Scott Air Force Base, normally designated for distinguished visitors, flew in to Dobbins ARB to return 14 F-16 pilots back to Homestead ARB, Fla., Aug 4. Five pilots are scheduled to fly the remaining jets from Homestead to Dobbins ARB later this afternoon. The F-16C block 30 fighter jets are being moved from Homestead as a precautionary measure to avoid possible damage from tropical storm Emily, currently brewing in the Atlantic Ocean.
