DOBBINS AIR RESERVE BASE, Ga. – There’s a new commanding officer at the helm of the Marine Corps Combat Logistics Regiment 45 here.

Col. Matthew Puglisi, commanding officer, CLR-45, passed on the responsibility, authority and accountability of the regiment to Col. Michael Oppenheim, during a change of command ceremony held at Dobbins Air Reserve Base Aug. 4.

During the ceremony, Puglisi spoke of the regiment’s successes throughout his command tour and explained that their accomplishments wouldn’t have happened without the hard work and dedication of the Marines and Sailors within the regiment.

“What you see behind me is professionalism, dedication, initiative, drive, zeal.” Puglisi said as he referred to the Marines and Sailors in attendance. “To the Marines and Sailors, hell of a way to send me out.”

Puglisi said he had the opportunity to get to know Oppenheim and bring him up to speed on where the regiment is today.

“It’s not common to be invited to spend a month at the command you’re about to take responsibility of,” said Oppenheim. “Col. Puglisi gave me that chance to become familiar with the regiment. It’s an honor to serve alongside the Marines and Sailors of this regiment.”

Oppenheim previously served as the assistant chief of staff for logistics at the 3rd Marine Logistics Group, Okinawa, Japan.

Puglisi’s next assignment is at Marine Forces Pacific Headquarters, Camp Smith, Hawaii.
