The 94th Operations Group welcomed a new commander in a ceremony held here on July 10.

Col. Patrick Campbell formally assumed command of the group after the recent departure of Col. James Devere, who now commands the 302nd Airlift Wing at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado.

Campbell expressed his desire to innovate and passion for the Air Force mission in his speech to ceremony guests.

“The Air Force is changing, technology is changing; we must stay ahead to defeat our enemies,” said Campbell. “Despite any challenges we see today, America is still the best country on earth.”

Col. Steven Parker, 94th Airlift Wing commander, served as the event's presiding officer and explained how he and Campbell worked together previously at Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station, New York.

“He is an outstanding officer and we’re happy to have him,” said Parker. “I’m expecting great things from the Operations Group with Col. Campbell here.”

Campbell and Parker also expressed their gratitude to Lt. Col. John Jones, who served as the group’s interim commander for the past several months.
