A Dobbins family member passed on from this world Monday morning July 2.

Master Sgt. Francis “John” Hill was a member of 94th Maintenance Squadron and is survived by his wife and son.

“I cannot express how saddened we are by the news of this tragic event; it has impacted both myself and Maj. Gen. [Stayce] Harris, [22nd Air Force commander,]” said Col. Brett Clark, 94th Airlift Wing commander. “Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and the extended maintenance family. We will do everything we can to support them.”

The loss came as blow to the maintenance community and installation as a whole.

”We are deeply saddened by the loss of our fellow Airman, and our heartfelt condolences go out to his family,” said Col. Augie Casado, 94th Maintenance Group commander. “John served our Nation faithfully as an Air Reserve Technician in our Maintenance Squadron and was a valued member of the 94th Airlift Wing. I can only pray that faith, friends, and time will help us and John's family through this time of grief.”

The celebration of John’s life will be held Wed., July 8 at Crowell Brothers Funeral Home in Peachtree Corners, Ga. The visitation will take place at 1 p.m. and the service at 2 p.m.
