First line supervisors were provided basic tools to conduct individual office safety training during a Supervisory Safety Training Course Sept. 19 in the 700th Airlift Squadron Auditorium.

"Supervisors are the key to the safety program because they are responsible for maintaining a safe and healthful environment," said Tech. Sgt. Valentino Bradford, 94th Airlift Wing ground safety technician, and course instructor. "This course trains supervisors in management skills needed to implement safety policies and programs, to foster a workplace where hazards are identified and risks are managed. It also develops skills to recognize, control, report and eliminates hazards.

Bradford reminded attendees that the safety office performs frequent spot inspections of workcenters.

"As a supervisor, you must be the example and look the part," he said. "Wear your Personal Protective Gear (PPE), wear hearing and eye protection, and when required, always remove jewelry."
