Members score big during Energy Action Week

Members of Dobbins Air Reserve Base participated in Energy Action Week Oct. 21 thru 25 with trivia, prizes and awareness, exploring the impact of energy to the Air Force's mission, and promoting energy and water conservation.

Base civil engineering members delivered energy saving ideas and trivia sheets to various buildings and materials were published via the base website.

"We offered a few fun trivia games and a few ideas to save our resources on the base and in our daily lives," said Paul Eskew, base resource efficiency manager.

A short Energy Action Trivia Sheet was available for download. Sheets with all correct answers were entered into a drawing a for a $25 Base Exchange Gift Card at the Dobbins Consolidated Club Oct. 24.

Master Sgt. Jason A. Mellor, 94th Explosive Ordnance Disposal craftsman, scored 100 percent on the energy quiz, and won the drawing.

"I filled took the energy quiz before eating lunch at the consolidated club," Mellor said. "I had no idea I would win the drawing!"

The energy saving tips will not only benefit the EOD building, but there were tips I can also use at home, he added.

On Oct. 25, civil engineering members visited the Base Exchange offered shoppers energy conservation ideas.

"We want to encourage each member to play their part in helping Dobbins Air Reserve Base achieve its energy goals," said Eskew. "Make sure you turn off the lights, televisions, computer monitors, etc. before you leave each day, or whenever they aren't occupied. Let's make Dobbins ARB number one in the Air Force Reserve Command!"
