Brett Clark assumed command of the 94th Airlift Wing during a ceremony presided by Brig. Gen. Curtis Williams, 22nd Air Force vice commander, Nov. 15 here. Williams has known Clark, the former 908th AW commander, for many years and showed his enthusiasm to the Airmen of the 94th AW on the selection of their new commander. "Leadership knows he is the man for the job," said Williams. "He was hand-picked for this command. Obviously, we've had a tough year, but if you continue your support with this new commander, you will get through and reach the light at the end of the tunnel." Clark has been to Dobbins Air Reserve Base before, serving as the 94th Operations Group commander for a short time in 2006. He spoke to the wing's Citizen-Airmen on his expectations for the wing despite fiscal challenges that the Air Force Reserve Command will face. "This adversity will create a competitive environment among the services, among each Air Force component and among like units within our command," said Clark. "It's logical to suggest that the units that will survive should be the most valued, the most versatile and the best postured to meet future mission requirements. It will be my top priority to ensure that Team Dobbins is valued, versatile and postured for the future. We will succeed here." He is a command pilot with more than 4,000 flying hours in C-130E, C-130H, MC-130E and MC-130P aircraft. Clark will command the more than 2,500 reservists and civil service professionals in the 94th AW. The 94th AW flies and maintains C-130 aircraft while providing aeromedical evacuation and mission support to warfighting and humanitarian operations around the world.
