Clay Army National Guard Center, March 17. The over 130 ton load is supported by several heavy steel beams, wood cribbing, and three hydrostatic dolly assemblies which are all towed by a heavy-duty front-end loader. To meet post-9/11 security requirements, new construction of a perimeter road and parking lot at the chapel site, it had to be removed. The private, non-profit Dobbins Chapel Foundation, 94th Airlift Wing and Georgia National Guard arrived at a solution at no cost to the government, to move the historic chapel across the base. Members of the Honorary Commanders Association participated in their annual Dobbins Day, visiting various units on Dobbins Air Reserve Base, Aug. 21. Visited sites included the Base Fire department Training Site, the Eastern Regional C-130 Simulator, the Force Support Combat Training Center, base Air Traffic Control Tower and Weather Station, a demonstration by base Explosive Ordnance Disposal and a tour of a C-130 Hercules with demonstrations by the 94th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron. The HCA is a Cobb County Chamber of Commerce entity, whose main purpose is to take local civic leaders and introduce them to the military.
