More than $2,000 in proceeds from the race was raised by the Top 3 to be used to help Airmen and their families in times of need, said Master Sgt. Carl Mayo, 94th Maintenance Group maintenance analyst. Senior Airman David Flynn, 94th Aeromedical Staging Squadron, was the number one male finisher with a time of 19¨minutes, 35 seconds. Senior Airman Jaqueline Harris, 94th Logistics Readiness Squadron vehicle mechanic, was the number one female finisher with a time of 21:42. It took hard work for the winners to achieve the times they did, Flynn explained. "I run about four to five days a week," he added. "I try to run in a race every month, from 5k's to marathons to obstacle runs. Knowing I have another race coming up keeps me training hard." A lot of base support was needed for the fun run to happen, Mayo explained. "We couldn't have done this without great support from our commanders," Mayo said. "Drill weekends are very busy and there are a lot of requirements that need to happen. It was great that they let us do this." Fitness events are important to Airmen and the Falcon 5K was a great way to exercise together in a fun way, explained Maj. Gen. Stayce Harris, 22nd Air Force commander. "No matter how you accomplish your fitness goals, just do it, just move," exclaimed Harris. "I'm a walker and enjoyed every minute with our Airmen during the Falcon Run/Walk. Kudos to the Top 3, Georgia Peach, the rocking DJ Inspiration and all the Airmen that participated. What a great way to start the day."
