DOBBINS AIR RESERVE BASE, Ga. - The 80th Aerial Port Squadron conducted deployment readiness training at Dobbins Air Reserve Base, Ga., Oct. 6, 2024.

The 80th APS holds monthly training events designed to simulate real-world deployment scenarios and provide troops with critical hands-on experience in palletizing and transporting cargo.

In a deployment scenario, various types of equipment could be included in cargo that require special handling, such as food items, humanitarian supplies and other general equipment. Every month, Port Dawgs, as Aerial Port Airmen are often referred to, practice different scenarios to hone their skills, but uploading and unloading palletized cargo is a key skill all Air Transportation specialists must be proficient in.
