Members must have a valid DoD ID card. Register online or by calling 404-226-9478. Appointments are available from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Feb. 3-4, March 2-3 and April 6-7.

January 2024 Financial Tips

  1. Be resolved using S-M-A-R-T goals to save more, pay down debt and spend less. Don’t let anyone tell you resolutions are not important. Write them down and place in a visible location not digitally.

  2. Save 15% of your gross pay and fund a ROTH TSP, IRA or 401(k).

  3. Get rid of vanity consumer credit cards at places like Bed Bath and Bankrupt that charge up to 29% interest and take 35 years to pay off. These sucker cards keep you from reaching savings goals and affect security clearances.

  4. Use the new ROTH allowance in 529 plans to fund college education for your children.

  5. If your TSP allocations are not in a lifecycle or target date fund, make sure to rebalance your fund allocation. The stock market, represented by the C, S, and I funds was up 24% in 2023. This means you may be taking more risk than you anticipate in 2024.

Financial Readiness can help with all these goals. We look forward to making 2024 your best financial year ever!
