Dobbins Air Reserve Base has directed Health Protection Condition (HPCON) Charlie, effective August 18, to combat the spread of COVID-19 across the Department of the Air Force and our local communities.
As result, the 94 Force Support DEERS/ID Card Office is closed for in-person service until further notice. EXCEPTION: We will service mission essential base personnel with CAC cards issues under emergency circumstances only (e.g. Lost CAC needed to perform immediate duties, PIN resets to perform immediate duties etc).
For customers who have a scheduled appointment with our office, a DEERS technician will contact you to work out a plan to reschedule.
Please be advised there’s been an extension for USID cards that expired between 1 Jan 2020 through 31 Jul 2021; which is outlined in this message.
We will strive to provide service to all customers as much as possible during these times. To do so, we will provide assistance that can be accomplished electronically. These electronic services include:
- Updating Dependent Information (i.e. adding a newborn, marital status updates, Name Changes etc.)
- Adding/Updating Fulltime Student Status (Ages 21-23)
- Other Personnel Related updates
Please review the following information which explains documents we will need to make the appropriate DEERS updates:
ADD SPOUSE - Original or certified copy of Marriage Certificate, SS card, Birth Certificate or unexpired passport and valid state or government photo ID. If applicable, Divorce Decree, annulment or death certificate of previous spouse. If spouse is 65 or older we will need their Medicare card too.
- DEERS Removal: Sponsor must provide original or certified copy of the divorce decree to remove spouse and/or step children from DEERS
ADD NEWBORN - Original or certified copy of Birth Certificate or Confirmation of Birth (valid for only 30 days) and Social Security card if available (if not available, you have 90 days to update SSN before health insurance is suspended). Male sponsors must have voluntary acknowledgement of paternity or court order establishing paternity if not married to the mother.
ADD CHILD - Original or certified copy of Birth Certificate and Social Security card. Male sponsors must have voluntary acknowledgement of paternity or court order establishing paternity if not married to the mother.
ADD STEP-CHILD - Original or certified copy of Marriage Certificate, the child's Birth Certificate (must show the name of the spouse) and Social Security card.
ADD PRE ADOPTION - Original or certified copy of Child's birth certificate, placement agency letter or a court order reflecting date of birth and recognized by the Secretary of Defense.
ADD ADOPTION - Original or certified copy of Final Adoption Decree, new Birth Certificate and new Social Security Card.
ADD WARD- Original or certified copy of the Birth Certificate, social security card, court order granting custody to the sponsor (Sponsor's name HAS to be on the court order) for 12 months or more and an approved Memo from DFAS for secondary dependency. ARMY DOES NOT NEED THE MEMO FROM DFAS.

CURRENT ID CARD EXTENSIONS:
Under temporary exemption, personnel are allowed to continue to use expired USIDs only if the ID expired between January 1, 2020 through July 31, 2021 and this temporary exemption will expire:
- Aug 31, 2021 for all Foreign Affiliates and their dependents
- Oct 31, 2021 for dependents of the Active Duty U.S. Military to include Reserve & Guard components
- Jan 31, 2022 for Retirees and their dependents, and other populations
