The purpose of the proposed action is to restructure the Southern area in a manner that meets the needs of Dobbins ARB today and into the foreseeable future, ensure critical training is available to Explosive Ordnance Disposal personnel, and ensure the safety of personnel assigned to the Munitions Storage Area and others using the Base’s Southern Area.
Three action alternatives were found to satisfy the most critical selection standards and meet the purpose and need for the action and were carried forward for detailed analysis.
The preferred development proposal (action alternative 3) would cause no significant direct, indirect, or cumulative effects on the quality of the natural or human environment with the implementation of appropriate management actions.
