Jones receives top CGO honors Published April 16, 2009 By Jim Weslowski Public Affairs DOBBINS AIR RESERVE BASE, Ga. -- First Lt. Katrina S. Jones, 94th Aircraft Maintenance Flight, has been named the 94th Airlift Wing Company Grade Officer of the Quarter for January to March 2009. Highlighting Lieutenant Jones achievements was her selection by the 94th Maintenance Group commander to lead the 94th AMXF while the flight commander deployed for 120 days. She supervised 23 Air Reserve Technicians and 38 Reservists. As commander, she responded to the Air Force wide replacement and inspection orders of the wing's eight assigned C-130 aircraft. Inspections were completed on the lower engine mount barrel nuts, which initially grounded the fleet. The mission capable rate is now above 75 percent. "Her positive attitude and ability to seek out solutions, not problems, brilliantly restored the Awards and Decorations Program," said Maj. Peter Wojihowski, 94th AMXF commander. "She created a flight awards program to build esprit de corps with the troops." Lieutenant Jones is currently working with other Company Grade Officers to establish a future CGO Council at Dobbins. She plans to mentor and develop junior officers, hoping to provide the base with the best of the best. While on duty she takes every opportunity to train with maintainers and assist experienced officers with aircraft maintenance and problem solving. If her military duties did not demand enough time, Lieutenant Jones found precious hours to help in fundraising events for non-profit organizations supporting youth in sport programs. She also volunteered to tell the Air Force story at Calloway Elementary School Career Day, impacting more than 118 students while sharing her experiences. Lieutenant Jones positive attitude and display of unswerving allegiance to duty has not gone unnoticed on base or in the local community. She is the 94th AW CGO of the Quarter.
