Dobbins hosts another successful Family Day Published May 5, 2009 By Airman Chelsea Gitzen Public Affairs Dobbins ARB, GA -- Dobbins employees including civilian, military and retired servicemembers brought their families to the base for Family Day May 2. An array of displays, information booths and youth activities were made available at the event. Col. Heath Nuckolls, 94th Airlift Wing commander, presented awards to the Dobbins spouse of the year, the two servicemembers who won the competition held for designing the new 94th AW "tail flash" logo, and the winning teams of the fire muster competition during the opening ceremonies and throughout the day. For some, this was not their first time attending the event. "This is the fourth time we've been to a Family Day event here," said Alicia Montero, whose husband, Staff Sgt. William Montero of the 80th Aerial Port Squadron here, is currently deployed to Germany. "I love everything about family day." In addition to the attendees, local Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps cadets volunteered to assist in running the event. "What a wonderful experience it must be for military members and their families to be able to come to this event," said Joseph Grant, a JROTC cadet from East Paulding High School, "this camaraderie and support is why I plan on entering the Air Force when I graduate high school.
