"Absolute superstar," "best-of-the-best," "go-to-person."

These are just a few of the phrases used to describe Angela Pedersen, 94th Airlift Wing Family Readiness Director.  Not only did these phrases help catch the eyes of the nominating committee, it also helped her take the award of Family Readiness Senior Individual of the Year for 2008.

Col. Steven Slick, 94th Mission Support Group commander described Ms. Pedersen's "gold standard" for customer service that is unparalleled and the recognition that was noted by the Inspector General when she was given a Superior Performance award for her involvement during the wing's unit compliance inspection last year.

Since arriving at Dobbins Air Reserve Base and the 94th Airlift Wing, Ms. Pedersen has been a proactive team player for all Airmen and their families with any need or request. She has become the go-to-person for the unit first sergeants, which led to the implementation of the wing's Home Child Care Program and the Ride Share program. Both programs have greatly benefitted Airmen and helped them meet their Reserve commitments.

The petite go getter has also spearheaded the annual Thanksgiving and holiday relief programs, assisted members with financial needs in time of crisis and has gone above and beyond for all who need her.

"It was quite an honor," remarked Ms. Pedersen. "I never expected to win. I am just doing my job."

And doing her job she is.  "Selfless," leads the list of words to describe her way of doing her job -- putting the needs of all her customers first and foremost.

No matter what the need Ms. Pedersen is there to meet it -- a member has but to ask.
