Recruiters achieve new heights Published Aug. 18, 2009 By Senior Airman Shaun Shenk Public Affairs DOBBINS AIR RESERVE BASE, Ga. -- The Dobbins Recruiting Team, an operating location led by Senior Master Sgt. Tony Woods, met its annual goal of 300 enlistments July 17, while the Air Force Reserve Command recruiters as a whole met their goal of 8,800 enlistments Aug 3. The 300 enlistment goal given to the nine assigned recruiters put the team in the "heavy lifter" category since other recruiting operating locations can sometimes average half that amount. Senior Master Sgt. Kristyn Ervin, assistant senior recruiter of the Dobbins Recruiting Team said, "the hard work of the recruiters really made this possible." She also mentioned eight out of nine recruiters have met their personal goals this year. One of those recruiters is Tech. Sgt. David Carter, who is the Reserve recruiter at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. Not only did he meet his personal goal of 35 enlistments this year, but his recent recruit sworn in during an enlistment ceremony Aug. 13 garnered a new record of 332 enlistments for the Dobbins Recruiting Team. The previous record was 331 set in 2005. Several Dobbins recruiters are in the running to clench top headquarter awards to include the prestigious Century Club Award, which is awarded to recruiters who exceed 150 percent of their enlistment goal. Team Dobbins recruiters also achieved the Operating Location Excellence Award this year for exceeding 110 percent of their annual goal. Sergeant Ervin also tributes Team Dobbins' amazing success to Air Force Reservists, who refer quality people to the Air Force Reserve for using the 'Get 1 Now' program. This program allows Reservists the chance to win prizes for referrals. Air Force Reserve recruiters can fill positions anywhere but Sergeant Ervin says Team Dobbins is dedicated to support and meet the needs of the 94th Airlift Wing.
