Officials release guidance on U.S. flags

  • Protocol
Many members of Team Dobbins display the U.S. flag in their office and work centers. Therefore it is imperative to follow proper protocol for display of the flag indoors:

- Standard sizes for indoor flags are 3 feet by 5 feet on an 8 foot pole or 4 feet by 6-feet on a 9-foot pole.

- Indoor flags should have sewn fringe

- The Air Force uses stainless spearhead finials (not golden eagles)

- The base is a standard weighted stainless base with a deep pole holder

- The pole is ash or a light maple finish

Members may order the parts on the GSA Advantage Web site (www.gsaadvantage.gov).  The guidon staff is product number 576LTCP2 and the chrome base is product number 5370001.

For additional guidance, call Capt. Quincy Hudson, 94th Airlift Wing protocol officer, at 678-655-4796.
