Unit: 700th Airlift Squadron Job Title: Air Reserve Technician Pilot What are your job responsibilities? "My main responsibility is to stay a current and qualified pilot." What do you enjoy about being a pilot? "I have the pleasure of getting paid to do what I love, which is flying. Most people have to rent planes, but I have planes that I can access for free." What don't you like about being a pilot? "Idle time when I am not flying." What is your favorite place that you have traveled in the Air Force? "Butte, Montana. I was able to attend Evil Knievel Day, which was a blast." How is your family life? "It's great, I have a wife named Heather, an two children named Rowan and Banks, whom I love very much." What do you enjoy for recreation? "I enjoy hiking with my sister and playing with my kids." What is the most important lesson you have learned from being in the Air Force? "How to successfully interact with different types of people. It amazes me when I see five complete strangers with different backgrounds and upbringings being developed into a successful crew." What advice would you give to a young person who dreams of becoming a pilot? "It's an extremely competitive occupation. When interviewing you will be up against a lot of very intelligent people who all want the same job. Study hard and never lose sight of the end goal."
