Carolyn Bunch Hometown: Chicago, Illinois Unit: 94th Mission Support Squadron Job Title: Military Personnel Flight superintendent Time in the military: 28 years Time at Dobbins: 13 years What are your job responsibilities? "I am responsible for the overall planning and supervision of all MPF personnel. Continuously enhance mission readiness and quality of life for 1,500 assigned Reservists, family members, civilians and retirees through a diversity of MPF services. I also support mobility operations to include Personnel Support for Contingency Operations (PERSCO) and the deployment, employment and re-deployment of personnel." What do you enjoy about your job? "Working with a positive group of professionals, "MPF Warriors," who continue to go above and beyond to meet the MPF's mission and provide outstanding customer service." What is most challenging about your job? "In the face of the Personnel Service Delivery Transformation (PSDT), implementing change to a diverse group of warriors on personnel programs." What is your favorite place that you have traveled to while in the Air Force? "Spokane Wash. Beautiful, but cold!" How is your family life? "Blessed, healthy and happy." What do you enjoy for recreation? "Working in my yard, jogging with my two children, playing board games and swimming." What is the most important lesson you have learned from being in the Air Force? "Don't lose your faith and believe in yourself." What advice would you give to a young enlisted member who dreams of becoming a Chief Master Sergeant? "Willingly embrace the military way of life such as custom and courtesies and dress and appearance. Learn every aspect of your job and be an effective trainer. Trust your teammates, acknowledge constructive feedback and make an immediate improvement. Complete your PME's. Seek a mentor early in your career. Perform and conduct yourself at least one grade higher than your actual grade - don't ever hesitate to step forward and lead. Finally, always remember the Air Force Core Values - Integrity First, Service Before Self and Excellence In All We Do."
