Ervin Hometown: Youngstown, Ohio Unit: 94th Airlift Wing Recruiting Service Job Title: Senior Recruiter Time in the military: 20 Years (four years active duty, five years traditional reservist, 11 Years Air Force Reserve Recruiting) Time at Dobbins: One year in November What are your job responsibilities? Training, coaching, mentoring and managing all recruiters assigned to Team Dobbins. I also work closely with the wing to ensure proper manning to meet current and future missions while meeting Air Force Reserve Command Select Reserve end-strength manning. What do you enjoy most about your job? I really enjoy working with people; servicing internal and external customers. The Air Force Reserve offers so many opportunities! I love assisting others in reaching their personal goals. What is most challenging about your job? Finding enough time in the day! Any exciting things going on in Recruiting? The new Delayed Entry Program and the Get One Now program Recruiting, with the assistance of Command Chief Master Sgt. John Anderson and the 94th AW First Sergeants, is kicking off a new DEP program. The purpose of the new DEP program will be to prepare our brand new Airmen for success in basic training and in their Air Force Reserve careers. Don't be surprised to see them around base during Unit Training Assemblies. The newly-revamped Get One Now referral program has exciting new changes. The best way to keep the USAFR and the wing strong is to recruit first-rate people. Reservists can earn valuable awards for quality referrals -- people like them. Prizes vary from iPods to flat screen High-Definition TVs to laptops! The more people a reservist refers who joins, the more rewards they earn. The 94th AW has already had 48 reservists refer leads using the Get1Now Web site at www.Get1Now.us, and 14 new members have joined the Air Force Reserve because of reserve referrals. What TV shows are you looking forward to watching this fall? The NFL season promises to be exciting this year. I think there may be some surprises come January. May be more twists and turns than on Wisteria Lane! What do you enjoy doing for recreation? I enjoy spending time with family and friends and cooking. Nothing's better than good folks and good food! What is the most important lesson you've learned from being in the Air Force? I'm a true testament to the vast opportunities the Air Force Reserve offers. I've learned that no matter the personal or professional objective, the Air Force Reserve offers an avenue to assist. What advice would you give a young person looking to join the Air Force? Follow your dreams!
