Master Sgt. Bruce See

Hometown: I'm the son of a career Army soldier, so I had a new hometown every couple of years.

Unit: 94th Services Squadron/Honor Guard

Job Title: Base Honor Guard Superintendent

Time in the military: 18 years.

Time at Dobbins: 9 years 7 months

What are your job responsibilities?  To schedule Military Funeral Honors and to insure that the proficiency level of the trained Ceremonial Guardsmen assigned to the Dobbins Base Honor Guard are held to the highest possible standard... and then I push them a little bit more.

What do you enjoy most about your job?  I get to see the pride that Americans have in their country on a daily basis.

What is most challenging about your job?  Ensuring that all Honor Guard detail requests are met. Sometimes requires some creative planning!

Any exciting trips planned for this fall? The family and I are going to try to squeeze in one more trip to Disney World before the year is out.

What do you enjoy for recreation?  I'm a huge horror and sci-fi movie buff.

What is the most important lesson you've learned from being in the Air Force? Do your job right the first time, because more often than not, there is no second chance. When you're given a task, step up to the plate and swing for the fence.

What advice would you give a young person looking to join the Air Force?  Decide what your ultimate goal is, regardless of whether it's a military goal or a civilian goal. Once you know what you are working towards, you'll know better how to plan on getting there. So, STUDY for the ASVAB. The better you do, the more opportunities will be available to you!
