Wing CCA selected for INNERview Published Oct. 27, 2009 By Public Affairs DOBBINS AIR RESERVE BASE, Ga. -- INNERview is a special spotlight for members of Team Dobbins who don't always get recognized for their accomplishments on base and outside of the gates. If you would like to nominate someone please call Public Affairs at (678) 655-5055. Aletha G. Blackshear How long have you been at Dobbins? Since Aug. 30, 2008. I came from Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. What is your official Job title? Administrative Assistant to the Wing Commander. What does your job entail? Meeting and greeting visitors to the command section, answering phones, directing the flow of traffic, lodging paperwork, scheduling meetings and entering wing time-cards. What is your favorite part of your job? The fast pace of the office. Nothing is the same from day to day and I believe that I'm making a difference. What is the most difficult part of your job? Time-cards! Do you have any children? Yes, one. She's 35-years old and an Army Major at Fort Hood, TX. She graduated from West Point in 1996, has done two deployments and is making a career of the military. HURRAH! What do you do to relax after work or on your weekends? Spending time with my year old nephew, P.J. and printing photos of his six-month-old twin sisters, Jourdyn and Jaidyn Smith. Wal-Mart is the happening party place for me. Lately, I've been painting my house, room-by-room; started with the garage first, floor, then walls. Hate the painting but love the results! What do you enjoy most about being at Dobbins? I love the seasonal changes here... no hurricanes and not muggy. I enjoy my commute to and from work. In Florida, I drove an hour each way. This is a smaller base so I get to know and interact with more people. I work with great people and have the best boss. I've been trying to get to this area for several years because most of my family members are live here. I also love the many shopping areas and cultural events.
