PA Pigskin Picks: Week 8 Published Oct. 28, 2009 By The "Football Czar" Public Affairs DOBBINS AIR RESERVE BASE, Ga. -- Congratulations to Steven McKinnis, 94th Finance IMA Travel, the Pigskin Expert of Week 7. This was a tricky week, but Steven was able to correctly guess games that tripped many people up such as Houston over San Francisco and Arizona over the New York Giants. By Monday night, he was the lone winner with only two missed games. Great job! As we enter into the 8th week of the 2009 NFL season, there are three teams that remain unbeaten; Indianapolis Colts, Denver Broncos and the New Orleans Saints. All three will have a great chance to be undefeated entering November, but I think only one team will -- the Colts. The Colts will host the San Francisco 49ers this Sunday. Peyton Manning and the Colt's offense are in sync and looking great. The Colts are still the team to beat. Look for Manning and crew to play a great game and win big. The Denver Broncos are coming off a bye week to face the 3-3 Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens are also coming off of a bye week and will be looking to turn the corner on their season. Ray Lewis leads the Ravens' defense with 41 solo tackles and 53 total tackles. Denver's rushing attack is lead by rookie running back Knownshon Moreno and the passing attack is lead by QB Kyle Orton. Orton has thrown nine touchdown passes this year. Denver has exceeded most expectations so far, but Baltimore's defense is strong. The Ravens' win will bring Denver back to reality. The final unbeaten team, New Orleans Saints, will be in action this week against the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons are coming off an embarrassing lost to the Dallas Cowboys. The Falcons' secondary was picked apart by Dallas QB Tony Romo. Matt Ryan completed 19 of his 35 passes for 198 yards and two touchdowns. The Saints overcame a 21 point deficit to beat the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins' "Wildcat" offense dominated the Saints in the first half of the game. Ricky Williams had six carries for 80 yards and three touchdowns. The Saints' defense finally stepped up and finished the game with an interception return for a touchdown with less than two minutes left in the game. Drew Brees and the Saints' offense will be too strong for the Falcons. The Falcons secondary will give up too many big plays. The Saints roll big over Atlanta. As always, don't forget to turn in your Week 8 entry form by Friday, Oct. 30 at 4:30 p.m.
