Academy Day 2010 announced Published Feb. 9, 2010 Public Affairs DOBBINS AIR RESERVE BASE, Ga. -- Local area high school students will have a chance to find out what being a military officer is all about when they attend Academy Day 2010 here. The annual event is scheduled for Saturday, May 8 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. inside Hangar 5. Sponsored by U.S. Senators Johnny Isakson and Saxby Chambliss and members of Georgia's Congressional Delegation, the event features briefings from all the different service academies including the Air Force Academy, West Point, the Naval Academy and the Merchant Marine Academy and Coast Guard Academy. Various military statics will be on display such as a Security Forces weapons display, Blackhawk helicopter, C-130 aircraft and F-22 Raptor. Attendees will also get to talk to military recruiters and sign up for academies on the spot. Those interested in attending must register by 5 p.m. April 30 with Senator Isakson's office by calling Nancy Brooks at 770-661-0999.
