Brad McKinney, Flight Chief with the 94th Explosive Ordnance Disposal Julie McKinney, Marketing Manager with Dobbins Services How long have you been married? Nine years on February 16, 2010 Where did you meet each other? Brad: We met at the Dobbins Gym. Julie: Al Franchio (from the 94th Civil Engineer Squadron) introduced us. When did you realize that you were in love? Brad: When we had a late dinner after working out at the gym. Time just seemed to stop while we were together. Julie: I realized I loved Brad right away! I think it was the first time we had a cookout at his house and he invited another girl over. Courtney (friend and former 94th Public Affairs director) and I had to run her off right away! LOL (laugh out loud) What did you do on your first Valentine's Day? Julie: Brad took me to Scalini's and a movie. Brad: We also had our first date there. What would you say is the most romantic characteristic or best personality trait about your spouse? Brad: Julie is young at heart - she constantly reminds me that there is more to life than work. She refuses to let go of her inner child. Julie: Brad knows me inside and out. He knows when I need a book, or flowers or just a little pick me up from him. He knows exactly what I need and gives it to me whenever I need it. I could not find a better husband or best friend no matter how hard I tried. How do you balance your career with time for your spouse? Brad: Being a Senior NCO and a member of the full time staff of the squadron I have to work from home at times. When I am at home I spend my time with Julie. In the event of a work interruption if it is important I take care of it and then back to spending time with my wife. Julie: I leave work at work and when I am at home I am 100 percent with Brad. How many children do you have? Three beautiful children and two beautiful little Yorkies! Write a special Valentine's Day message to your spouse Brad: Happy Anniversary and Valentine's Day - I hope we have many more to come! Julie: Brad, I love you more than anything in this world...I hope we keep growing and loving for the rest of our lives.
