94th AW commander gives a heartfelt thanks to Dobbins Top 3 Published May 7, 2010 By Master Sgt. Stan Coleman Public Affairs DOBBINS AIR RESERVE BASE, Ga. -- Col. Heath Nuckolls, 94th Airlift Wing commander, paid tribute to the corps of senior NCOs at the Dobbins Top 3 meeting with the presentation of an award; a question and answer session, and giving a heartfelt thank you for the service of the men and women "who are the backbone of the wing and gets things done." During the May unit training assembly Colonel Nuckolls served as the keynote speaker for the Top 3 Leadership Speaker Series. Top 3 is a professional development and service organization for senior noncommissioned officers. One of its primary objectives is to enhance and support the professional growth and quality of life for all enlisted personnel. During the colonel's question and answer segment of his presentation the question was asked--"do you find it lonely at the top?" Colonel Nuckolls answered, "There are some things that a commander is not always at liberty to discuss. But a leader of any organization is inspired when a problem presents itself and the Airmen under his leadership reach out and say they will take care of it. As a father, I offered this advice to my daughter graduating from college--go to work; do your job; and do what is expected of you. The accomplishment of these three items will make you stand out from the rest. There are so many people who are unwilling to do what they are supposed to do. "I appreciate the good work and the accomplishments that you have made during my command of the 94th," said Colonel Nuckolls. "Thank you for all you do." "The 700th appreciates the leadership and support you've given us," said Master Sgt. Richard Graddy, 700th Airlift Squadron instructor loadmaster. Colonel Nuckolls received a standing ovation. Colonel Nuckolls presented Master Sgt. Joseph Martin, 94th Aircraft Maintenance Flight aerospace maintenance craftsman, the Senior NCO of the Quarter plaque for the 1st quarter of 2010. Colonel Nuckolls was presented a Top Three coin, a gift and a certificate of appreciation by Master Sgt. Larry Lopez, Dobbins Top 3 president, in appreciation for his service.
