Tuskegee Airmen Conference Published July 30, 2010 By Staff Sgt. Shaun Shenk 94 AW/Public Affairs SAN ANTONIO -- Servicemembers from Dobbins Air Reserve Base, Ga., are just a few of the hundred Airmen attending the Tuskegee Airmen Conference in San Antonio July 29. Events included were a Human Resource and Development meeting, Lonely Eagle ceremony and a military forum allowing members to ask questions of senior leadership. Members on the senior leadership board included Lt. Gen. Edward Rice, Maj. Gen. Erica Steuterman, Maj. Gen. Steve Gross and Brig. Gen. AJ Stewart. They commented on expectations of leadership and mentorship, emphasizing the importance in developing junior members to allow them to meet their full potential. "Reputation is everything in our business," said Lt. Gen. Rice, "Translate knowledge into progress and be 'all in' to the Air Force, your unit and your AFSC." Brig. Gen. Stewart emphasized the point by saying "I want everyone's AFSC to be leader and winner." The conference is held annually to commemorate the contributions that the Tuskegee Airmen made to the Air Force and to provide diversity and leadership tools to servicemembers.
