Save a Life Tour, Nov. 7, Building B-840 auditorium Published Oct. 19, 2010 Safety Office DOBBINS AIR RESERVE BASE, Ga. -- The 94 AW Safety Office is hosting Save A Life Tour, (SALT) at Dobbins, Sunday, Nov. 7 during the UTA. Tour is sponsored by the Air Force Safety Center. Dobbins is the only Air Reserve Base of the 19 bases selected from the entire Air Force to have this tour. Purpose: To emphasize to the base population through video and virtual reality method, the devastating effects of drinking and driving. This is accomplished through the use of a video and simulator, in-your-face representation of reality, addressing the very real and often fatal consequences of poor choices. It is NOT a video game. Program is graphic, and is not for the faint of heart. The video is NOT acting, it is real life and contains footage from actual events to show how devastating driving under the influence is. It shows actual drinking and driving accidents, police responses, emergency room scenes, uncensored family responses, screeching brakes, crying, screaming, sirens, flashing lights, blood, and injuries. Who should attend: Military/civilian employees/teenage dependents of each. Location: B-840, Auditorium, next to B-838. When: 0800-1700 hours Break-out: 0800 Program starts with a mass lecture and video presentation (approximately 1- hour). Hands-on program is approximately 1-hour duration and is conducted every hour, 0900, 1000, 1100. Attendance is limited to 80 participants each hour. Unit quotas will be provided in the near future. Lunch: 1200-1300 1300 Program starts with a mass lecture and video presentation (approximately 1- hour).
