2010 Federal Benefits Open Season to Dec. 13

DOBBINS AIR RESERVE BASE, Ga. --  The 2010 Federal Benefits Open Season is coming! Dates for Open Season will run from Monday, 8 November 2010 through Monday, 13 December 2010. During this period, you can enroll in, change or cancel an existing health, dental or vision plan.

This is the time for you to think about your health, dental, vision, and tax-saving needs and to make changes to or enroll in one of the Programs. The Programs that participate in the annual Open Season are the:

*Federal Employees Health Benefits Program (FEHBP)
*Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP)
*Federal Flexible Spending Account Program (FSAFEDS)

If you are already enrolled in FEHBP and FEDVIP, those enrollments WILL continue automatically (although benefits and premiums may change). If you already have an FSAFEDS account, it WILL NOT continue automatically; you MUST reenroll.

It is important for you to access these sites, as changes have occurred as a result of recently passed Health Care Reform legislation. Also, to make any changes or elections to Health Benefits, please access the AF Portal and visit the Employee Benefits Information System (EBIS) or you may contact the Benefits and Entitlements Service Team (BEST) automated phone system at 1-800-525-0102. All transactions are done either electronically or through the automated phone system.

To make an election for the Flexible Spending Account, please visit www.FSAFEDS.com or contact 1-877-372-3337.

Open Season Effective Dates are as follows:

FEHB: First day of the first pay period that begins on or after 1 January 2011
FEDVIP/FSAFEDS: 1 January 2011
