Band of AF Reserve performs holiday concert Dec. 9 Published Nov. 30, 2010 By Candice Allen HQ Air Force Reserve Command Public Affairs ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- The Band of the U.S. Air Force Reserve will present its free annual holiday concert at the Museum of Aviation Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. "Throughout this past year, the band has entertained millions of people across the country as well as many of our deployed troops overseas," said Maj. Donald Schofield, band commander. "After a whirl wind year, we're thrilled to share the gift of music this holiday season and end the year with our Middle Georgia family." The 45-piece concert band will headline the holiday concert this year. This unit is the largest of the Reserve Band with a varied repertoire that ranges from classical overtures and Sousa marches to Broadway show tunes, popular music, movie themes, patriotic favorites, and holiday songs. This is the band's 49th holiday concert since arriving at Robins AFB in April 1961, where it is part of Headquarters Air Force Reserve Command. The concert is free and open to the public. The performance takes place inside the Museum's Century of Flight Hangar. Doors open at 6 p.m. with concert starting at 7 p.m. Seating is limited.
