Academy Day registration April 1 - 29 Published March 24, 2011 DOBBINS AIR RESERVE BASE, Ga. -- The annual Academy Day event is May 7, 10-11:30 a.m., Hangar 1 at Dobbins Air Reserve Base. Academy Day helps familiarize students with the application and nomination process for applying to the nation's five service academies: The United States Air Force (USAFA), Naval (USNA), Military (USMA), Merchant Marine (USMMA), and Coast Guard (USCGA) Academies. Nominations are required for all but the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, to which appointments are made on the basis of an annual nationwide competition. Representatives from all five academies will be in attendance to explain more about their requirements and expectations and will be available to answer questions. All individuals who are interested in attending Academy Day must make a reservation by contacting Nancy Brooks, Isakson's Academy Director, at (770) 661-0999 or by registering online at http://www.isakson.senate.gov/academies.html. All individuals who wish to attend must provide their phone number, date of birth, driver's license number, and total number of guests who will be in the car by the registration deadline on Friday, April 29, 2011, at 5 p.m.
