"Wright" Stuff comes to Dobbins Published July 21, 2011 By Don Peek 94th Airlift Wing Public Affairs DOBBINS AIR RESERVE BASE, Ga. -- The "Wright" Stuff Summer Rocket Camp brought attendees to Dobbins to experience various aviation related programs and speak to reserve personnel July 15, 2011. The rocketry camp kids, ages 8-12, experienced hands-on activities including a tour of a static C-130 aircraft, a visit to the base weather center, directed virtual aircraft in the air traffic control simulator, and had their knowledge of survival skills tested by life support technicians from the 94th Operations Support Flight. The camp, sponsored by the Museum of Aviation, Robins Air Force Base, Ga., and the Liftoff Rocketry Club, Atlanta, Ga., is a week long program that mixes science, technology, engineering and math concepts with fun activities. "The tour was an excellent opportunity to give the kids an overview and a chance to put together all they have learned," said Andrea Currier an escort whose son Caleb participated in the program. Currier, who is also a lieutenant commander with the United States Coast Guard Reserve, said Caleb's little sister, who is two years younger, is looking forward to the day she can attend the rocket camp.
