Description of Organization Loyola is a community based nonprofit organization providing sub-specialty behavioral health care, health management, housing and employment services to Veterans. The foundation serves Veterans Administration patients, Veterans not enrolled in VA services, active duty military personnel and military families. Loyola operates a "first of its kind" community based service that is fully integrated into the values, interests, standards and treatment goals of the VA Health System. Job Description Provides both operational and programmatic support to the organization. The CFO will supervise the finance unit and is the chief financial spokesperson for the organization. He reports directly to the Chief Executive officer and assists the Chief Operating Officer on all strategic and tactical matters as they relate to budget management, cost benefit analysis, forecasting needs and the securing of funding. This includes preparation and distribution of monthly financial reports, preparation of year end financial reports, attending Board and Subcommittee meetings (including being the lead staff on the Audit/Finance Committee), overseeing business insurance plans and health care coverage analysis and other administrative/managerial duties as assigned. He will assist in performing all tasks necessary to achieve the organization's mission. Work with the CEO and COO on the strategic vision including fostering and cultivating stakeholder relationships on city, state and national levels, as well as assisting in the development and negotiation of contracts. Ensure adequate controls are installed and that the substantiating documentation is approved and available such that all purchases may pass independent and government audits. Oversee the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities for the organization including: organizational revenue/expense and balance sheet reports, reports to funding agencies, development and monitoring of organizational and contract/grant budgets. Responsible for preparing an operating budget in conjunction with the CEO and COO to ensure programmatic success through cost analysis support and compliance with all contractual and programmatic requirements. Ensure adequate cash flow to meet the organization's needs. Education Required Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field. CPA not required, but preferable. Experience Required · Controller or Chief Financial Officer level. · Five to seven years of financial experience and management experience. · Knowledgeable of not-for-profit accounting in accordance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, OMB Circulars A-133, A-110 and A-122, TANF program regulations and compliance requirements and appropriate Code of Federal Regulations sections. · Organizational development, human resources and program management. · General office software, particularly the Microsoft Office Suite and MIP software (or other similar not-for-profit general ledger software) and use of data bases. · Ability to create and assess financial statements and budget documents. · Foster and cultivate business opportunities and partnerships. · Recognize and be responsive to the needs of all clients of the organization, including funding organizations, the Board of Directors, local community advocates, participants and employers. · Supervise staff as appropriate. · Communicate effectively in both writing and verbal form. · Work as a team member with loyalty to the organization.
