Greetings and Merry Christmas from your Safety Office!

With the hustle and bustle of the holiday season upon us, we hope you enjoy a peaceful celebration with family and friends, while practicing sound risk management.

As our banners say at both gates...Safety Never Takes A Holiday.

So far this holiday season we've been blessed with moderate weather, but stay tuned for updates. The weather can change rapidly (just check out the news for blizzard conditions in the Midwest).

If you're traveling this holiday season, take an extra few minutes to check tire condition and pressure, and make sure your battery is in good condition. Toss some blankets, extra hats and gloves in the trunk. Make sure your emergency and first aid kits are in good shape and are well stocked. As you're traveling take frequent breaks, and go easy on the long traveling days.

Around the home take a moment to risk manage your decorations. Candles are beautiful but can be deadly, and many holiday plants and decorations are poisonous to small children and pets.

Be sure to properly dispose of your Christmas trees after Christmas. Many locations offer Christmas tree collection points. Check with your refuse company. Many take Christmas trees with your garbage pickup, but may have special requirements such as no tinsel, size, etc.

It is our sincere wish you all enjoy a wonderful time of celebration with family and friends. It has been an outstanding year for Team Dobbins, and we thank you for accomplishing our mission in the safest possible manner.

Here's hoping we can make 2012 even safer. Happy New Year!
