Firefighters looking to upgrade Published April 18, 2012 By Don Peek 94th Airlift Wing Public Affairs DOBBINS AIR RESERVE BASE, Ga. -- Dobbins firefighters welcome Tommy Nguyen and Trey Kilpatrick, staff members for Georgia Senator Johnny Isakson during a visit April 9 to discuss a need for a new fire department complex. Nguyen and Kilpatrick were given a facility tour by firefighters Patrick J. Gunn, president and Patrick J. Cone, vice president of Local F-152. Concerns included egress for personnel from living quarters in the event of emergencies, critical emergency equipment being stored inside away from weather conditions, a need for improved hazmat facilities, and separation of vehicle parking away from personnel equipment storage. A proposal to house both fire teams and security forces personnel in the same facility was made. A demonstration of the unit's emergency crash vehicle was conducted as well.
