Friends, Families to build care packages for deployed Airmen June 30 Published June 19, 2012 By Senior Airman Elizabeth Gaston 94th Airlift Wing Public Affairs DOBBINS AIR RESERVE BASE, Ga. -- Friends and families of deployed Airmen are invited to Family "Care Package" Day on June 30 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Verhulst Hall, building 813, here. This event is being hosted by the Community Outreach Committee of the Executive Support Professionals of Cobb County, local Girl Scout Troop #6115 and Dobbins Airman and Family Readiness. Attendees will have the opportunity to pack a box of free, useful items for their deployed loved ones. Members of Dobbins' Key Spouses and Dobbins' First Four groups will also be on hand to assist and speak to visitors. "When you're in a deployed environment, you sometimes can't get common items, like your favorite shampoo," said Senior Airman Tumyra D. Byron, Airman and Family Readiness Office administrative assistant. "Over there, these items are more like luxuries. So, we're going to send some state-side luxuries to the Airmen."
