Sponsored by the Square and Compass Club with assistance from the Dobbins Thrift Store, the Dobbins Chiefs and First Four Groups and the Airmen and Family Readiness Office, the event is intended to promote base camaraderie and benefit the Dobbins Emergency Assistance Fund for Reservists in financial need. "This event is to benefit the Dobbins family," said Ronald Durant, 94th Airlift Safety Office ground safety manager. "No one ever knows when they may need assistance." The main attraction will be the food. The cost will be seven dollars for a plate, which will have two bratwurst sausages with fixings, two ears of roasted corn, a drink and dessert. This event has helped raise more than $2,000 for the DEAF each year and this year promises to be just as successful Donations will be accepted and appreciated at the event. Proceeds from ticket sales, items sold, and donations will go directly to the DEAF. "Attendees will each receive a fantastic meal at a great price," said Durant. "They will also have the opportunity to win or purchase handmade items at great prices, contribute to the Dobbins Emergency Assistance Fund, fun and fellowship and get a needed break in their daily routines."
