Members of the 94th Airlift Wing welcomed staff members from congressional and senatorial offices for breakfast on Aug. 23 at the Dobbins Consolidated Club.

Col. Timothy E. Tarchick, 94th Airlift Wing commander, Col. Heath Nuckolls, Headquarters 22nd Air Force chief of staff, Col. Steven R. Clayton, 94th Operations Group commander, Lt. Col. Peter A. Wojciechowski, 94th Maintenance Group deputy commander, and Ken Williams, base civil engineer, were on hand to discuss issues such as the base operational tempo and updated military construction requirements.

Following breakfast, congressional staffers were escorted to the 94th Airlift Wing headquarters building where they were treated to an exhibition performance by the 94th AW Honor Guard. Staffers were also able to ask questions of the honor guard, such as how many times a year must the honor guard perform funeral ceremonies.

"We do between 250 and 300 funeral details a year," said Tech. Sgt. Aaron P. Abshire, 94th AW Honor Guard deputy noncommissioned officer in charge. "Our primary mission involves the Georgia National Cemetery, but will support details throughout the region. We take very seriously the duty of rendering military honors to veteran, active duty and Reserve Air Force Airmen."

Staffers expressed their support of the 94th Airlift Wing and thanked its Airmen for serving our country.
