Military members honored by local civic leaders Published Nov. 9, 2012 By Senior Airman Elizabeth Van Patten 94th Airlift Wing Public Affairs DOBBINS AIR RESERVE BASE, Ga. -- Members of the 94th Airlift Wing attended the Georgia Jobs for Veterans Employer Breakfast on Nov. 8 at the Georgia World Congress Center. The Airmen were honored along with all those who have served in the military at the event hosted by Georgia Governor Nathan Deal. Among those present was Congressman-elect Douglas Collins who spoke with Capt. Patrick Simmons, 94th Airlift Wing public affairs officer, and Tech. Sgt. Richard Conyers, 94th Airlift Wing interim equal opportunity director, about balancing his new responsibilities as the representative from Georgia's newly-created twelfth district. Collins is also a traditional reservist at Dobbins Air Reserve Base, where he serves as the base chaplain. Following the breakfast, the military members were invited a veteran's career expo coordinated by the Governor's Office of Workforce Development and the Georgia Department of Labor. Over 350 employers were present for workshops, job-matching, networking and interviews.
