Former Secretary of the Navy tours Dobbins Published Feb. 26, 2013 By Don Peek 94th Airlift Wing Public Affairs DOBBINS AIR RESERVE BASE, Ga. -- Former U.S. Secretary of the Navy William L. Ball and accompanying officials visited and toured Dobbins Air Reserve Base, Ga., Feb. 22. The officials received the 94th Airlift Wing mission briefing from Col. Tim E. Tarchick, 94th Airlift Wing commander, and an overview of the mission of Clay National Guard Center from Major General Jim Butterworth adjutant general, Georgia National Guard. Ball was secretary from March 28, 1988 to May 15, 1989 serving under Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush.
