The 94th Maintenance Group held their 2nd Annual Chili Cook-Off during the December Unit Training Assembly in maintenance bay 2.

Lt. Col. Peter Wojciechowski, 94th Maintenance Group deputy commander, took first place, and declined to comment when asked what secret ingredients made up his chili.

"Every chili guy will tell you it's an old family recipe," said Wojciechowski. "My recipe is a full sheet of ingredients."

However, Wojciechowski revealed that his chili did contain elk tenderloin, pork and venison. This is his second year winning the chili cook off, so he must be doing something right. Maj. Robert Mehan, 94th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron commander, won second place trailing closely behind by only 19.5 points.

"We were just having fun," Wojciechowski said. "The real winners were the maintenance group."

Participants raised $279, and the proceeds will go to the Combined Federal Campaign and Wingman Booster Fund, which is used for retirements, going away gifts and funeral expenses.

There were eight entries this year, and all were judged using combined scores considering aroma, spiciness and taste by using whole numbers one through five, with five being the highest.
