Teens will focus on leadership development and self-confidence, learn about programs and services available to Air Force dependents, and build an appreciation for and sense of belonging to the Air Force community. Summits offered are: Classic Teen Leadership Summit Wahsega 4-H Center Dahlonega, Georgia June 16-21, 2013 Adventure Teen Leadership Summit Cheley Colorado Camps Estes Park, Colorado August 13-18, 2013 Eligibility requirements, selection criteria and frequently asked questions are located at http://www.georgia4h.org/afrangteensummit. Most costs including airfare from the closest major airport, meals, lodging and camp registration fees are supported by Air Force Child & Youth Programs through a partnership with the University of Georgia and the Georgia 4-H. To apply, teens must visit and complete an application with essays at http://www.georgia4h.org/afrangteensummit. Deadline to apply is April 15, 2013. Adult volunteers are also needed to support the camping program. Volunteers must arrive one day before the teens, supervise the teens in cabins and complete the Georgia 4-H screening process while having fun with the teens in the camp programming. Like teen participants, most costs are centrally supported. Military members, in past years, have often been granted permissive TDY to attend. Information and application packages for adults are located at the same website. For more information, please contact Casey Mull or Marilyn Huff-Waller at milcamps@uga.edu or COMM 706-542-4444.
