Airman proposes during Memorial Day Celebration Published June 18, 2013 By Senior Airman Elizabeth Van Patten 94th Airlift Wing Public Affairs DOBBINS AIR RESERVE BASE, Ga. -- Back off ladies! Tech. Sgt. Joshua Albertin, 94th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron medical technician, is officially off the market. Albertin told his now bride-to-be, Diana Stephens, he has been chosen to introduce the Charlie Daniels Band on stage before a special Salute to the Military concert at Stone Mountain Park. Immediately before the band stepped on to perform, the emcee brought the couple on stage to say, "Josh, I know that we said you were coming out here to introduce the next act, but I think you have something else up your sleeve." Albertin dropped to one knee and - as the crowd gave overwhelming approval - asked her to marry him. The ring he presented her with was a Montana sapphire, one of her favorite types. "I wanted to give her something unique," said Albertin. "I couldn't be happier. I won't ever find anyone more supportive." The couple has not set any wedding plans in motion, yet. They are preparing for Albertin's next deployment, which is scheduled for later this year. "My dad was a fighter pilot, so I'm not stranger to the military way of life," said Stephens. "I'm prepared to support him in any way, just as I know he will support me." The couple said they knew their relationship would go the distance after the first week. Congratulations! Soon-to-be Tech Sgt. and Mrs. Albertin!
